Switch Tale Saga — Privacy Policy
Effective 7 October 2026 · Tech9logia Studios
The short version
- No ads, no analytics trackers, and we never sell or share your data with advertisers.
- You can play without an account. Your progress is backed up to our game server, linked to your device and not to your name.
- Voice chat goes live to the person you play with. It is never recorded or stored.
What the game keeps, and why
- A device key. This is an ID made by your phone (the Android ID, or an ID kept in the iPhone Keychain). We use it to back up your progress, so reinstalling the game brings your levels, stars, coins and outfits back. Our server turns it into a public 8-letter player ID. Friends see the player ID, never the key.
- Game progress and settings. This covers levels, stars, coins, outfits, the names you give the two heroes, and your settings.
- Your couple photo (optional). If you add one, a small square copy is kept with your backup. It appears in the game's photo puzzles and share cards, and in the Play Together lobby for the people you play with.
- Google Sign-In (optional). If you choose “Sign in with Google”, we receive your Google account's email address. We use it only to restore your progress on another phone.
- Username and profile picture. Every player gets a username (you can change it) so friends can add you by name. If you pick a profile picture, it's one of the game's avatars or a photo you choose; a photo is shrunk to a small square (under 300 KB) before it's sent. Players who look you up by username, and your friends, can see your username and picture.
- Friends. When you add someone, we store who your friends are. We also keep whether you are online in the game, so friends can see it and send Play Together invites.
- Fair play. To keep changed (modded) copies of the game out of online play, the game proves to our server that it is the real app, and the server gives it a short-lived ticket. If a backup shows signs of cheating (for example coins changed in memory), the player is marked and left off the leaderboards.
Camera and Real Couples photos
- The game asks for the camera only when you take your own faces for Real Couples (or you can pick photos from your gallery instead).
- The background is removed on the phone itself, and each face becomes a small sticker (a few tens of KB). The original photos stay on your phone.
- So your faces come back if you reinstall the game or change phones, each sticker is backed up to our server with your game backup. It is only used to show your faces in your own game. It is not shown to other players or shared with anyone.
- Removing a face in the game deletes it from our server too. Uninstalling the game removes the faces from your phone; to have the backed-up ones deleted as well, email us (see below).
Playing together and voice chat
- Play Together connects your phone directly to your partner's phone. For a direct connection, the two phones exchange network addresses (IP addresses).
- When a direct path isn't possible, the game is carried through a relay run by Cloudflare. The relay passes the game data along and does not keep it.
- Microphone: the game asks for it only when you turn on voice chat in Play Together. Your voice goes live to the players in your game. It is not recorded, stored or sent to our server. You can turn voice chat off at any time, or deny the permission in your phone's settings.
Notifications
If you allow reminders, your phone schedules them itself, for example when a daily gift is ready. You can turn them off in the game's Settings.
Where it's kept and for how long
Backups are stored on our game server (hosted by Hostinger), and connections between it and the game are encrypted. We keep your backup for as long as you play, so it is there when you need it. You can ask us to delete it at any time (see below).
Deleting your data
To delete your backup, photos, username, friends list and Google link, email us at tech9logia.in@gmail.com with your 8-letter player ID. You can find it in the game under Friends. We delete everything within 30 days. Uninstalling the game removes everything stored on the phone.
Children
Switch Tale Saga is made for teens and adults, and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the game's online features, please contact us and we will delete the data.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date. For any question, email tech9logia.in@gmail.com.
